The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
The Marines Toys for Tots Program plays a major part of in giving back to kids all over the country during this time of year. One Texas organization is looking to help them reach their goals.
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas is proud to be a 2016 National Corporate Sponsor for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
As part of the season of giving, RCAT has set a goal to donate 1,000 bicycles and bike helmets
to Toys for Tots for distribution to children all over Texas this holiday season.
"It's amazing to see the people's faces in our association carry bikes out and loading them up. It's our way of giving back to the community and making sure that kids are as happy as possible at this time of year. We are happy to help out those less fortunate," said Chuck Giffin of the Texas State Roofing Company.
Over the years the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has distributed toys to more than 200 million children around the world.
